Representing the Osoyoos Indian Band at UBCM

Dan Macmaster is in Vancouver this week representing the Osoyoos Indian Band (OIB) and West Boundary Community Forest at the 2026 Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Convention.

UBCM provides an important opportunity for OIB to strengthen relationships with First Nations, local and provincial government leaders, forestry partners, and other decision-makers from across British Columbia.

For Dan, those conversations are an opportunity to share OIB’s perspective and priorities, particularly around forestry, land stewardship, wildfire resilience, economic development, and greater First Nations participation in forest management.

Dan connects with Jennifer Gunter, Executive Director of the BC Community Forest Association, during the 2026 UBCM Convention. Relationship-building with forestry organizations, First Nations, governments, and community leaders is an important part of advancing OIB’s long-term forestry and stewardship priorities.
